AVALON & STONE HARBOR will receive municipal aid from the NJDOT for the repaving of roads.  In Avalon, a portion of Dune Drive will be repaved; in Stone Harbor, a portion of 99th Street will be repaved.  Other Cape May County towns received their own grants as part of the state program.

INDICTMENT: A Pennsylvania dentist was indicted for allegedly dumping dental waste that washed up on area beaches this past summer.  The man, who has a home in Avalon Manor, allegedly took his motor boat into Townsend's Inlet and dumped waste from his dental office into the water.  If convicted, the man could face prison time and fines of up to $125,000.

THE BEESLEY'S POINT BRIDGE is one step closer to reopening after the bridge's private owners elected to return $900,000 that the state had given to them to repair the bridge and keep it open.  The money had been spent on bridge repairs, but the bridge has been closed since June 2004, eliminating an important evacuation route from Cape May County.  By returning the money, the bridge's owners are complying with their original contract.  Still to come: $20 million worth of repairs are needed to fix the bridge and return it to operation.  The state is slated to pay 60% of the cost of those repairs.

LAST CALL AT HENNY'S:  The well-known and popular Stone Harbor restaurant will close its doors on November 30, and will celebrate with a last call party from 1-9pm.  The business was originally started in the 1930s and is currently run by the fourth generation of the family.  The site will be developed and incorporated into the new Shelter Haven Resort, which will include the Henny's property as well as the vacant lot across Third Avenue, fronting on Shelter Haven Basin.
