A CAR drove through the garage of a bayfront home at 102nd Street & the bay last week. The driver of the car apparently experienced a medical problem and crossed Third Avenue and Sunrise Drive before striking the house. Rescue personnel from Stone Harbor, Avalon, and Middle Township had difficulty removing the driver and passenger from the car, which came to rest in the home's living room. The driver and passenger were airlifted to hospitals for medical attention. No one was home at the time the house was struck.
DREDGING of Avalon's Whale Harbor and Long Reach Channel is on track for a September 15th start date. Owners of bayfront homes will be able to "piggy back" the dredging of their private boatslips concurrent with the project.
MORTGAGE RATES remain between 6% and 7%. Recent rates supplied by mortgage lenders have the current 30 year fixed rate at 6.375% for conforming loans and 6.75% for jumbo loans. Mortgage financing is still readily available despite lending difficulties elsewhere.
